Black hawthorn is a large shrub or small tree that typically grows up to 8 meters tall. It is native to northern and western North America where it can grow in a variety of different environments such as thickets, meadows and near water. It is a tall, straight shrub with showy white flowers during May-June.The leaves are dark green and paler beneath with small, irregular lobes.
