It has been introduced to North America and planted as an ornamental, it is considered invasive in some areas of the U.S and Canada.

 

Leaf

Alternate, simple, 3-7cm long leaves. Leaves end in large teeth. Triangular to oval. Turn yellow in fall.

Bark

Trunks usually clumped. Mature bark is bright white and peels in long strands.
