The large cranberry is a small shrub, typically growing 4-6 inches tall. It is native to eastern and central Canada and northeastern and north central United States. It enjoys wet to moist sites and can tolerant some shade, common in forested sphagnum swamps and bogs. The leaves are delicate and small, however the berries are large in comparison.
